Kibitzing
Kibitzing is the term for chatting with the players and spectators in a match. It is the most commonly used chat command during match play. You must be playing or watching a match to kibitz. Some players enjoy chatting all through a match, others prefer to remain quiet. You should be sensitive to your opponent's desires, excessive kibitzing may upset his or her concentration. Kibitzing conventions When you begin playing a match, it is common to send a "Hello from California" (or wherever you live) kibitz. You can set up a default message in the Chat section of the Preferences window for this convention; the message will be set into the Game Chat, just press Return to send the message, or begin typing to replace it with a different message. When you begin watching a match, it is common to say hello with a quick "hi" kibitz. Spectators should be particularly sensitive to disturbing the players with kibitzing. While kibitzing is the most common chat command during match play, you can also use: Whisper to broadcast your message only to the spectators of a match. The players will not receive the whispered message. Say to broadcast your message only to the players of a match. The spectators will not receive the message.
